More Lessons In Book Cover Design

Last week I posted about everything my son and I learned about designing a cover for a book. Based on that we designed a new cover for Intermediate JavaScript, a followup to my first book Elementary JavaScript. I was very excited about the new cover. It looked great on my screen, much more professional than my previous cover. So I quickly redid the cover for Elementary JavaScript using the same style while keeping the color scheme of Elementary JavaScript.

Next thing, I uploaded the cover almost everywhere the eBook is sold. And that is when I learned a new lesson in cover design. The text was invisible when the cover was thumbnail sized. So while the cover looked great full size, a good cover must also look good thumbnail sized. The text is now bigger and bolder. See the changes side by side:
