The Holy Grail of Yogurt – No Junk and Not Much Sugar – Siggi’s

The all time most visited page on my site is one about Gelatin in Yogurt and how to find gelatin-free yogurt. My next update on the topic was about switching to Greek yogurt (but avoiding Greek-style yogurt). But now I’ve found the best yogurt you can buy – Siggi’s Icelandic Skyr.

Contains no junk, less sugar and is delicious. Excess sugar has been one of my biggest complaints about flavored yogurt and food in general in the US. Here is the nutritional label for raspberry Siggi’s:

More protein and less sugar compared to Chobani Mixed Berry (the closest Chobani flavor), which has:

  • Sugars 16g
  • Protein 12g

Or Dannon Oikos strawberry:

  • Sugars 18g
  • Protein 12g

Or regular Dannon raspberry (which also contains gelatin)

  • Sugars 24g
  • Protein 6g

After Siggi’s, I’ve tried Smari Skyr but Siggi’s tastes better.
